Mumbai police are investigating alleged death threats received by four Bollywood personalities, including comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Rajpal Yadav, choreographer Remo D’Souza, and actor-singer Sugandha Mishra. The threats reportedly originated from Pakistan, prompting authorities to take swift action.

The threats were conveyed through an email signed under the name “Bishnu,” which highlighted the seriousness of the situation. The message read, “We are monitoring your recent activities and believe it is crucial to bring this sensitive matter to your attention. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. Treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”

Actor Rajpal Yadav reportedly received the email on December 14, 2024. It accused comedian Kapil Sharma’s team of being linked to Salman Khan’s sponsorship and threatened dire consequences if the recipients did not respond within eight hours. Following the threat, Yadav’s wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, filed a complaint at Mumbai’s Amboli Police Station.

The case has been registered under Section 351(3) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, which addresses threats of harm. Mumbai police have traced the email’s IP address to Pakistan and are coordinating with central authorities to communicate with the neighboring country. Enhanced security measures are being put in place for Kapil Sharma and his team as investigations continue.

Kapil Sharma has been a famous name in Indian entertainment, known for his comedic talent and popular television shows. He gained national recognition after winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 3 and later became a household name with Comedy Nights with Kapil. Sharma has also ventured into films, starring in projects such as Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Firangi, and the recent Zwigato. His Netflix series, The Great Indian Kapil Show, has featured several Bollywood stars, including Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.

Rajpal Yadav has been a consistent presence in Bollywood. His recent appearance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, included a cast featuring Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan.
